Professional Designations

Yorkville University’s Master of Education in Educational Leadership has been approved by the Teacher Certification branch of the NB Department of Education and Early Childhood Education for use towards a higher Teacher Certification, as well as for Principal’s Certification. Because of interprovincial agreements, graduates of Educational Administration specialization can expect that their degrees will be recognized in all provinces and territories.

Yorkville has entered into conversations with certification boards in all provinces and territories and confirmed that the degree is recognized as a valid designation issued by the New Brunswick Ministry of Education. As licensure requirements are provincial, students are advised to contact their local boards to determine what, if any, additional requirements are necessary to administer in their specific K-12 specific systems as several provinces have implemented provincial qualification courses. In these instances, The Faculty of Education works with the students to assess these PQP courses for eligibility for transfer credit or advanced standing.
